Blue House is a neighborhood coffee house built around thoughtful design, exceptional coffee, and genuine hospitality.
We're creating spaces where people can slow down, connect, and feel at home. As our first Oak Bay location prepares to open, we're looking for a Lead Barista who wants to help build not just a café, but a culture.
About the Role
This is more than a Lead Barista position.
We're looking for someone who wants ownership, takes pride in their work, and enjoys helping others become better. You'll be responsible for leading the daily café operations, mentoring the team, maintaining quality standards, and helping create an environment where both customers and staff feel welcome.
While coffee knowledge is valuable, we believe attitude, dedication, and leadership are just as important. We're looking for people who are eager to learn, take pride in their work, and want to grow with Blue House.
What You'll Do
- Serve as the shift leader when the FOH Manager is not on-site
- Train and mentor baristas
- Maintain espresso quality and drink consistency
- Foster a positive, collaborative team culture
- Work closely with ownership as the company grows

Specialty coffee experience is appreciated, but leadership, work ethic, and alignment with our vision are what matter most.
Requirements
- 1-2 years of barista or management experience
- Food Safe Level 1 certification
